Service

General Nail Care

Nails hard or impossible to manage? No problem. We offer comprehensive care for the nails including, cutting, clearing debris, burring off sharp edges and unwanted skin and filing to keep them neat and tidy. See below for other nail treatments.

Skin Care

We can help you care for the skin on your feet as well. We treat things like callus or corns on your feet, hard skin that has become painful. We can also advise you about skin conditions (eg. tinea/athletes foot) and the best available treatments and preventative tools.

GP Referrals

Jensen Podiatry gladly visits patients under the medicare for enhanced primary care and chronic disease management. This requires a GP referral, speak to your doctor to see if you are eligible. (Please note there is a gap of $30 for this service).

Heel Pain

If you suffer from heel pain, for example, when the first step in the mornings is too much, we can help. There are several conservative proven treatments for heel pain (plantar fasciitis). We can help relieve the pain and educate you on how to prevent it from coming back.

Orthotics

Orthotics can be an extremely useful tool in changing gait kinematics and kinetics (the way we walk). We use orthotics to treat a variety of different conditions and to help you maintain good foot posture during walking. Let us help you get back on your feet and walking comfortably.

Fungal + Ingrown

Fungal nails can be a problem, causing nail deformity and potentially pain. Jensen podiatry offers you conservative treatments that can really help. Ingrown nails can also be a real problem, causing pain and sometimes leading to secondary infection. Again we offer conservative thorough solutions.

Diabetic Foot

Diabetes can have major effects on your feet and it is important to take care of them. Diabetes Australia recommends that you see a podiatrist at least annually if you have diabetes. We can offer you care and also education to help you prevent diabetic foot complications.

Veteran Affairs

If you are a gold card holder with veteran affairs and are in need of podiatry care, we can help. You can receive an in home visit and better still with no out of pocket cost.

Paying and Claiming

We use the latest in paying on the go, with a mobile card reader and invoice producing software we can take payments and make invoices on the spot. Credit cards, eftpos and cash are all excepted. Our services are claimable with private health insurers and require you simply to lodge a claim directly to your insurer.

Studies and Registration

At Jensen Podiatry the podiatrist you see will have completed a Bachelor (or equivalent) in Health Sciences and a Masters of Podiatric Practice. They also will be registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (APHRA). You can be sure they will be highly skilled, registered, professional, educated in the podiatry field and familiar with best practice.

Professional Development

The training does not stop there however, guided by the over riding registration agency (AHPRA), podiatrists also are required to preform 20 hours of continuing professional development to maintain their registration. These guidelines are to ensure that as a patient you receive the best possible treatment.

CPR and First Aid Training

CPR and first aid training is all part of the full accreditation offered to you. First aid and CPR training are carried out every three years and refresher courses completed every year. A podiatrist with knowledge and skills to assist in these areas will provide assurance that you are in safe and secure hands.
